Mosquito-Borne Illness Alert
Pinellas County is under a Mosquito-Borne Illness Alert from the Florida Department of Health and a state of local emergency for Dengue and West Nile. As a result, Pinellas County Mosquito Control has increased community outreach and treatment in the impacted areas.
Due to the high viral activity, the County cannot provide services for routine mosquito complaints at this time.

Pinellas Home Repair Assistance
Pinellas reopens home repair program offering up to $75,000 in assistance
To help local people stay in their homes and maintain their property, Pinellas County has reopened its state-funded Home Repair Program, offering financial help of up to $75,000 for critical needs such as roofs, windows and air-conditioning replacements.
The program is designed to preserve existing homes and help low-income homeowners struggling with the cost of maintenance, homeowners insurance and major home repairs.
The program temporarily closed in early 2025 while funds were redirected to emergency home repairs following Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Following the launch of the People First Hurricane Recovery Programs, the County has capacity to again assist homeowners with non-storm-related repairs.
Independent Living Grant
Pinellas County has also reopened its Independent Living Grant, which provides up to $20,000 for accessibility improvements such as wheelchair ramps and grab bars.
Who Qualifies?
Homeowners earning up to $58,450 per year for an individual or $83,450 for a family of four may qualify for the programs.
The home must be the applicant's primary residence and cannot exceed an assessed value of $375,000, based on the valuation of the Pinellas County Property Appraiser.
The programs are available for homes in unincorporated Pinellas County and most cities, except Belleair Shore, Largo, Clearwater and St. Petersburg.
